Custom Water offers a variety of bottle sizes ranging from 8 oz to 1 liter. The ideal size depends on your needs and how the water will be used. For many years, the most popular private-label size was the 16.9 oz bottle, followed by the 8 oz.
More recently, the 12 oz bottle has become the clear favorite the perfect “happy medium” that isn’t too much or too little. In fact, in 2017 the 12 oz size made up over 65% of our custom-labeled bottled water production.
The ideal water bottle size depends on how much hydration the end user needs. Grocery stores, however, focus on maximizing perceived value so “more water for your money” is their goal. In many cases, they even sell bottled water below cost as a “door buster” to bring customers into the store.
Larger water bottles are difficult to fit in purses and are oversized for the average hand, which often leads to partially finished bottles being left behind. If they aren’t reused, the aluminum and plastic waste is still fully recyclable.
In the private-label water world, the 12 oz bottle is the perfect size. Businesses often use custom-labeled water bottles to elevate their brand experience or promote a new product.
